Set in a peaceful position amidst splendid open countryside in the small hamlet of Hartwith, Cow Close Barn is a new conversion of a 150 year old stone barn providing spacious accommodation for up to six people. Adjoining the owner's grade II listed farmhouse, it retains a wealth of character and commands splendid views of Nidderdale.

Local attractions include Brimham Rocks (2.5 miles), Fountains Abbey (8.5 miles), Mother Shiptons Cave (8.5 miles), Ripley Castle (5 miles) and York races. Many other attractions are listed at the Harrogate Attractions web site. The charming towns of Pateley Bridge (6 miles) and Harrogate (9 miles) are easily accessible and, for the more active, there is tennis (3 miles), fishing (3 miles) and golf (9miles) available close by. The bustling city of Leeds and historic York are 35 minutes and 40 minutes respectively from Harrogate. The area has many fine restaurants and traditional pubs, the nearest within 2 miles.

The Barn itself is spacious, comfortable and splendidly appointed throughout. The farmhouse-style kitchen on the ground floor is very well equipped and has its own breakfast area.

Steps lead from the kitchen to the first floor with its separate dining room and spacious beamed living room. There are two double bedrooms (one with en-suite) and one twin-bedded room and a seperate bathroom/wc with full size bath and over-bath shower. All rooms on the first floor have attractive pine floors and ceilings.

Directions...

From the A1/M Junction 47 follow the A59 to Knaresborough. Go through Knaresborough, then take the B6165 towards Pateley Bridge. 1.5 miles after the village of Burnt Yates turn right into Stripe Lane (signposted to Hartwith and Brimham Rocks). After 0.5 miles turn right into the entrance to Cow Close Farm.
Alternatively from Harrogate, follow the A61 towards Ripon. At Ripley turn off on the B6165 to Pateley Bridge and follow directions above.
For International or Domestic flights the nearest airport is Leeds Bradford (15 miles).
